On Saturday we helped a local Mill Valley group celebrate the national “Day to Move Beyond Fossil Fuels.”

The idea behind the celebration was to encourage the community to ditch the car for the day and walk/bike around town to their favorite local businesses. We businesses were asked to provide a fun (& free) activity as an extra incentive for those who decided to participate.

We, of course, chose a craft project.

The relatively modest turnout did nothing to dampen the spirits of the most enthusiastic crafters of the whole day employees!

Rose (card-maker extraordinaire) labored over the preparation of all the bits and pieces and presented each crafter with a kit to make their own banner.

One woman made an adorable banner for her son, a dinosaur-lover.

Some of the girls made banners that spelled out their names - in bright colors to dress up their bedrooms.

Each one was unique and beautiful.

Also, everyone was pretty much obsessed with Rose’s “Big Shot” machine.

Are you familiar?

It embosses paper in the quickest, coolest way possible.

We couldn’t stop.

Thank you, Rose!!
