Because It’s genius. Practical and whimsical and forehead-smackingly obvious.

VELVET PUMPKINS

I finally came across the source of those velvet pumpkins everyone is always asking me about!

They’re from Shop Terrain.
Enjoy!
MORE CHRISTMAS
November 11, 2011
Today I came in a little early to put out some more holiday stuff.

Although Nordstrom has set a wonderful trend by announcing their pledge to hold off on “decking their halls” until after Thanksgiving, I do understand that crafters need to start decking a little earlier if they’re going to have any projects complete for the season.
So, out came all the boxes.

There are lots of goodies under the tree now. And a bunch more to come.
BIG NIKON VS. LITTLE NIKON
November 10, 2011
I’ve had some camera issues recently.
Well, just one issue, actually.
My camera is gone. It disappeared.
Which is troubling. I never take it from the store, because it’s a humongous Nikon (hereafter referred to as Big Nikon) with fancy lenses and everything and I even have to use two hands to hold it. It’s bulky.
So where did it go? Ugh. I just don’t know and, for the record, I prefer to think positively (and not suspiciously) about its whereabouts. I’ve had THREE dreams that I found Big Nikon. Is that a good omen? Does anyone know?
Unfortunately, sweet dreams and good thoughts have produced exactly ZERO photos, and that has meant: no posts to this blog. And while I’m not the most dedicated of bloggers, I have increasingly felt the need to document things around here - especially as the holidays come barreling in.
What to do?
Well…. while I wait for Big Nikon to find its way back to me, I introduce you to Little Nikon.
I bought him yesterday at Target and have been pleasantly surprised so far.
This Coolpix L120 model was way cheaper than Big Nikon….and as a result, it has no detachable lens, no manual mode and a built-in flash (which I normally avoid like the plague). And no, mine isn’t red; it’s black. I didn’t know it came in MY red, otherwise I would have spent even less time deciding to buy it than I did…
BUT you know what? The photos are pretty darn nice, if I do say so myself, and since it’s so lightweight and small, I’m hoping it will encourage me to take more photos more often, leading to more frequent blog posts. What do you think of that?
I’m sensing a possible silver lining, folks…

This gorgeous stuff is Valdani’s silk floss, by the way.
23 yards/ball. Hand-dyed lusciousness in 6 strands. $5.00 each.
